The The E Minor Pentatonic and / or the G Major Pentatonic

Pattern Number one in all positions on the guitar and keyboard too


The picture below shows both the G Major Pentatonic and / or the E Minor Pentatonic all over the neck of the guitar


The RED circles show the pentatonic pattern number one in both the Open position and up in the Octave position 12 frets above


The Blue numbers show all the notes of the G Major Pentatonic and / or the E Minor Pentatonic all over the neck of the guitar (The letter B shown is the Blues note that can also be added at times (This is the flat 3rd note of the scale))

NOTICE THAT the same picture above also shows both the G Major Pentatonic and / or the E Minor Pentatonic across the Keyboard too

So the reality is that you can use any of the Blue numbers shown above (and the B) for the G Major Pentatonic and / or the E Minor Pentatonic all over the guitar


Experiment now using any combination of the Blue Numbers shown from the Diagram above with the Video we used, shown again below

You can also use the Guitar Pentatonic Blues Slide Rule (Link top left of page) and select a pattern to practice for yourself


Experiment, try all sorts of ideas, try selecting different patterns on the Guitar Pentatonic Blues Slide Rule, and always use your ear, learn to trust your ear
